Blurb:

The best things in life aren’t free…they’re freely given.

Ben Lethbridge doesn’t have many vices left. After raising his little sister to adulthood, he wasted no time making up for the youth he lost to responsible parenting. Two years of partying it up—and ignoring his diabetes—has left him tethered to a home dialysis regimen.

He can do his job from his flat, fortunately, but most of his favourite things are forbidden. Except for DVD porn…and fantasizing over Ollie, the gorgeous, purple-haired skateboarder who delivers it.

Their banter is the highlight of Ben’s lonely day, but his illness-ravaged body is the cruel reality that prevents him from believing they’ll do anything more than flirt. Not to mention the age gap. Still, Ben figures there’s no harm in sprucing himself up a bit.

Then one day, a package accidentally splits open, revealing Ben’s dirty little secret…and an unexpected connection that leaves him wondering if he’s been reading Ollie wrong all this time. There’s only one way to find out: risk showing Ollie every last scar. And hope “far from perfect” is good enough for a chance at love.

Warning: Contains superhero porn comics and a cute, accident-prone delivery guy with colour-changing hair. Readers may experience coffee cravings, an unexpected liking for bad mullets, and the urge to wrap Ollie up and take him home.

Excerpt:

“Hey there,” Ollie said when I opened the door, that million-watt grin lighting up his face again. “Like the hair. Got another one of these for you.”

“Thanks.” I tried to kick-start my mouth into saying something interesting, but it refused to cooperate and decided it wanted to dry out instead. I suppose it was slightly less embarrassing than drooling over him. In an effort not to stare, I forced my gaze away and fixed it on the front garden next door. There was only a low, brick wall separating my spartan, gravel driveway with Mrs. Felpersham’s garden, but it was like another world over there. She’d crammed it full of blowsy pink flowers, a wooden wishing well and more garden gnomes than you could shake a stick at. Those gnomes always gave me the heebie-jeebies, but at least there were plenty to keep my eyes occupied at times like this.

“Oh, sweet! I’ve got that exact same T-shirt! ’Course, mine’s a bit smaller.” Ollie started bouncing up and down on his heels, and I wanted to lick him all over, he looked so appealing. At that thought, despite being full of dialysate, I felt my cock starting to stir. It’s a good thing I was in the XXX-Large version of the Wolverine shirt. Still, I leant forward a little just to make sure nothing showed.

My mind got stuck on the idea of how much I wanted to see him in that T-shirt and then out of it. I started to worry that I was going to blurt it out by accident, so I kept my mouth firmly shut. I must have looked like a right stuck-up twat. Didn’t seem to bother Ollie, though.

“I should bring some of those comics round for you to read. It would be good to have someone to chat about them with. Most of my other friends think I’m nuts, you know?”

What? Other friends? Did that mean he considered me a friend? We’d only known each other for a few weeks. I realised I needed to speak, and fast, if I wasn’t to make a terrible impression and get struck off that friends list.

“Yeah, uh, great. I mean, I’d like that, if you don’t mind lending your stuff to a stranger.” Great. Now I’d called myself a stranger when he was trying to be friendly.

“Nah, it’s cool. I know where you live, after all.” He gave me another huge grin that made his cheeks dimple. It really wasn’t fair. No one should be allowed to be that cute.

Hockey goalie Tarah 'TJ' Elliot is too busy stopping pucks to go looking for love. When her friend Natalie sets her up through Madame Eve's 1 Night Stand service, she grudgingly agrees to go. Her ultimate fantasy comes true when Scott Alarid, one of the top scorers in the league, shows up at her hotel room. Hockey player TJ can't possibly spend a night with him, but Tarah certainly can.

Scott's tired of dealing with women who only like him for his all-star status. After his teammates arrange a date for him using the 1NS website, he's delighted to find a woman who doesn't know a thing about the sport. But, will the truth force them to put their relationship on ice?

Review -

Do you like sexy hockey players, blind dates, and 'pucking' hot sex? Well, Angela S. Stone and Emily Cale give us just that in their new release - Goalie Interference from Decadent Publishing out April 17, 2010.

Hockey is normally a man’s sport, but TJ Elliot is no man and she plays hockey with the best of them. TJ plays hard and doesn't leave a lot of time to socialize or date. Lucky for her, she has a great friend who sets her up on a date.

TJ's date winds up being "thee" Scott Alarid of the Montreal Magic hockey team; just what she doesn't want, another hockey jock. Scott is blown away with Tarah's beauty and the easiness of her company and he falls for her almost instantly, but of course things can't always be perfect...Or can they?

This is a super cute 42 page short story about two people brought together by noisy friends, steamy sex, the possibilities of a happily ever after. I would love to see another story about some of the teammates and Madam Eve's services, so please please say there is more :)

Brave Are the Lonely (Fevered Hearts, #2)When the spirit fever struck a town, a village or an outpost, it left few if any survivors. …and good deeds never go unpunished…

Gypsy princess Mariska only wants to protect her people and her freedom, but a dangerous choice puts her on a collision course with an angry wolf.

…the best thing that could happen to him…

When Cody touches Mariska, his wolf cannot escape the hunger that fills him. For Mariska, Cody’s touch brings her a pleasure she never imagined, but is it enough to heal his fractured soul?

…was the last thing he expected.

As danger stalks all three of them, they must confront who they are or risk losing Cody forever.

His wolf. His woman. His way.

Juniper Bell & Kelly Jamieson + Giveaway

Today we have Juniper Bell and Kelly Jamieson with us talking about their "Ivy League Men" from their new releases Beautiful Obsession and One Man Advantage from Ellora's Cave.  You will not want to miss these men, excerpts, or this great giveaway!! So read on and enjoy...

Juniper:

BEAUTIFUL OBSESSION takes place at a fictional Ivy League university, where a graduate student becomes obsessed with three mysterious students, and vice versa. Now personally, I find the combination of brains and brawn in man very alluring, but in case you need convincing, here are a few arguments for my case.

Exhibit 1: This is how I imagine Jack Cartwright, the grad student. He's trying to suppress his sexual side so he can finish his thesis, but the man's got needs, can't you tell?

Exhibit 2: Meet Rob, wrestling champion and Clair's longtime friend and protector. He saved her life when she was little, and they've stuck together ever since. He might look studious right now, but don't mess with him or his friends.

Exhibit 3: Luc. The rich kid. He's been their guardian angel ever since he helped Rob rescue Clair. But now things are changing. Someone else is about to take charge.

So there you have it -- three guys who make smarts look sexy.

Kelly:

I am so with you on that, Juniper! I totally agree that the combination of brains and brawn is super sexy, and as a matter of fact, the hero of ONE MAN ADVANTAGE attended an Ivy League school too! Logan played NCAA hockey for Dartmouth College, where he obtained a degree in economics. He’s also 6’3” and over 200 pounds of muscle. Apparently the heroine of the book, Nicole, also finds intelligence sexy, as you’ll see in the excerpt below! And in case you think this is just my wild imagination conjuring up such a smart, educated hockey player —here’s my inspiration:

Tanner Glass, who now plays for the Winnipeg Jets, was an honour student in high school, played NCAA hockey at Dartmouth College and has a degree in history. That’s him on the right, reading George Orwell J (Photo)

Here are a couple of excerpts from BEAUTIFUL OBSESSION and ONE MAN ADVANTAGE:

BEAUTIFUL OBSESSION
by Juniper Bell
Jack Cartwright has put his wild sexual side firmly in the past so he can focus on his graduate studies. All he wants is to finish his thesis. But the appearance of three mysterious students in a neighboring suite throws his careful plans into chaos. Especially when he catches the three of them together…in bed. Clare, Luc and Rob have a highly unusual relationship. Friends since childhood, the two boys rescued Clare from unimaginable horrors. They’ve been her protectors ever since, and something more. But Clare can’t stop thinking about the sexy, smoldering resident advisor down the hall, and what fierce urges might be hiding behind his controlled exterior.
Now Jack’s dark sexual needs threaten to derail his career as the irresistible threesome lures him into their secret erotic world. But when obsession takes hold, rules don’t stand a chance

 Excerpt~

First conversation

Adams House mailboxes.

“Mr. Cartwright?”

Jack’s head jerked up from his pile of mail. Clare stood a few feet from him. Her voice was soft and breathy, like a wooden flute being played in a forest. He smelled her—he’d come to recognize her scent even when she’d already left the room. It had an undertone of green apples with a whiff of chlorine. By now he’d learned that she swam. The thought of Clare in a swimming pool was almost too much for him. He’d spent agonizing minutes wondering whether she wore a bikini or a one-piece. Imagining her in the locker room…

“Yes? Clare?”

Her name felt intrusive on his tongue, too intimate. Embarrassing. As if she’d guess his perverted thoughts from the way he said her name.

“Mr. Barnes told me you grew up in this area.” She spoke with that same faint Louisiana accent and very carefully, as if afraid to get a word wrong.

“Yes, I grew up in South Boston.” A different world, but she probably knew that.

“Can you recommend a good watchmaker?”’

“A what?” He stared at her mouth as that little smile curled one corner.

“I need my watch repaired.” She opened her hand to reveal an old pocket watch, its silver patina chipped. The chain spilled through her fingers like water. He wanted to lick them.

“That’s beautiful.”

“It belonged to my grandfather. It deserves proper care.”

He loved the way she spoke, so precisely, carefully selecting each word. He’d heard she was studying poetry. “I agree. I don’t know of any repair shops offhand, but I can ask around.”

“I’d appreciate that very much.” She gave him the friendliest smile she’d shared thus far, along with a graceful nod. She turned as if to go, and suddenly he couldn’t stand to see that happen.

“Where are your friends?”

“My friends? Oh, Rob and Luc?” The corner of her lip quivered ironically. Fascinated, he realized he could read her moods in that one tiny portion of her anatomy. “They’re pretending to try out for crew. But really they just wanted to see what all the fuss is about. I suppose…”

“Yes?”

“I suppose you think we’re always together.”

“Frequently, at any rate. Students are usually advised to branch out, to get to know as many other students as possible.”

“Well.” She considered, tilting her head carefully. “I don’t care much for other students.” Her clear gray gaze slid toward his, catching for an electrifying instant of significance. Then she was gone.

She didn’t care for other students. Did that mean she cared for non-students? Did that mean she only cared for her two friends?

Jack went over every word in that conversation a hundred times before their next encounter.

Inane Scrawlings – September 28

My instincts tell me J’s fucked men before and would do it again. Sex practically oozes out the man’s pores. Does he have any idea what he does to me? The first time I ever spoke to him, at the mailboxes, I ran back to my room to masturbate. Except I didn’t even make it to my room. This sounds insane, but I ran into the laundry room and locked the door. I sat on a washing machine with my legs spread open. I still had my pocket watch, the one I’d pretended was broken. I wrapped the chain around my hand and drove it down my pants like a madwoman. With the chain pressed against my cunt and the washing machine vibrating under me, I thought about J—his big, hulking shoulders—black shadow on his jaw. The way his midnight-black eyes strip the clothes right off me—the swelling in his jeans—oh God. The chain bit into my clit—I needed that, the harshness, the pressure. I came so hard I bit my arm to keep from making too much noise.

Even so, I got odd looks from the kid waiting outside the door when I finally opened it.

ONE MAN ADVANTAGE:
By Kelly Jamieson

After her ex trashes her reputation in front of the media and it quickly goes viral, Nicole vows she’ll never get involved with another hockey player. Too bad her job with the Minneapolis Caribou puts her in contact with sexy hockey players on a daily basis, including the newly traded center, Logan Heller. Logan’s pretty sure Nicole is the perfect woman for him and he’s determined to have her—in and out of bed. Nicole is equally determined to never date another hockey player. But Logan has a one man advantage...he knows what she really wants.

Excerpt~

“So yeah, I’m used to snow,” he said, picking up the conversation again. “Where did you grow up? I guess Montreal mostly?”

“Yes. We lived there until I was sixteen and Dad got traded to New York. But I went back to Montreal to go to university.”

“You speak French?”

She laughed. “Of course. Have you heard my dad’s English?”

He grinned. “Yeah. But you don’t have an accent at all, you speak perfect English too.”

“Well, I grew up in a bilingual home. My mom’s American. My brother and I went to French schools, but we mostly spoke English at home. Well, my dad tried. And then of course we had to go to an English-speaking high school in New York.”

“What did you major in?”

“Communications. Hence the job in communications,” she pointed out.

“Of course. I majored in Economics.”

Her head whipped around to stare at him. “Economics? Seriously?”

He shot her a look, one corner of his mouth lifted in a crooked smile. “Don’t sound so shocked.”

“I’m not! Okay, I am.”

He laughed.

“Do you have a degree?” she asked.

“Yep, from Dartmouth College.”

“Oh! Did you play NCAA there?”

“I did.”

“I didn’t realize that.” A degree in economics. Whoa. Suddenly—weirdly—he was even more attractive.

“My brothers both got into the NHL through major junior hockey. Jase wasn’t much into school, so there was no way he was going to university. My parents practically killed themselves getting him to graduate from high school.”

“That’s good they did,” she said.

“Yeah. And Tag was smart―not that Jase isn’t,” he quickly added. “But he has ADD, so school was hard for him.”

She nodded. “Yeah. Good for him for graduating then. Um, turn right at those lights ahead.”

“Tag just wanted to play pro hockey as fast as he could,” Logan continued, doing a shoulder check to change lanes. “And they wanted him as fast as they could get him, so he was playing for Phoenix when he was eighteen.”

“That’s really young.”

“It is. But he was always mature, and he had the skills. He was ready. I wasn’t.”

She shifted in her seat a little to look at him. Câlisse, he looked good, his big hands easy on the steering wheel. In profile, the small bump on his nose was more evident. No doubt broken at some point in his hockey career. She wanted to know more about him. “No?”

“I mean, I wanted it. I just wasn’t as mature as Tag was at that age. I was bigger than him, though.” He grinned. “And I liked the idea of getting an education too. In case the hockey thing didn’t work out.”

“Was there ever any doubt about that?” With the talent in his family, it seemed crazy that he might have thought he might not make it as a pro hockey player.

He huffed a laugh. “You never know.”

“Was there a lot of pressure on you to make it?” she asked slowly, thinking again about those two older brothers in the NHL.

His face tightened, barely noticeably, but she caught it. Her interest was piqued even more. Not that she should be interested in him. “My parents never pushed it,” he said. “They tried to be encouraging. I mean, they were encouraging. But even so, yeah, I felt pressure.”

She nodded. “I guess I can relate to that,” she said slowly. “Sort of. My brother Julien was definitely a lot to live up to.” As were both her parents.

“He’s a good player.”

“He is.” She couldn’t deny that, and she loved her brother and was proud of him. “But all their focus was on him and his hockey career.”

He stopped as the light turned red and glanced at her. Their eyes met. “Yeah. I know the feeling,” he said quietly and the connection between them stretched out warm and palpable. She swallowed, unable to break eye contact with him.

Lia Davis - Ravished Before Sunrise

Choosing that prefect setting

Hello! Thank you Dawn for having me over today. I’m so excited about my upcoming release, Ravished Before Sunrise, a Decadent Publishing 1Night Stand story. It’s my first published story and loads of fun to write.

When I start a new story, I always flesh out my characters. I have to know who they are. But that’s the easy part, at least for me. The main reason being it is the characters that come to me first and tell me what they want. Then we talk about the setting. Where will this story or adventure take place? The scenery and landscape is important and very much a part of the story.

Ravished Before Sunrise came at me full force. Emalee, heroine, came to me and said she needed an adventure and wanted to stalk a vampire. She’s an avid reader and loves paranormal romance novel and thought it would be fun to role player a huntress. Her boring not so human life made her long for some excitement.

So, what better way to have her fantasy vampire hunt than with a one-night stand? But where would it take place?

Ema wanted a natural setting, somewhere secluded. My first thought was the mountains, because they’re beautiful. So I searched the web and did some brainstorming until finally picking the French Alps.

Not all settings come to me so easily. I had stories sit for months because I’m not sure on the setting. For me, it has to feel right and fit the characters. I’ve learned not to force it. My muse keeps me busy with story ideas, so it’s okay to let one sit until the perfect setting comes along.

Ravished Before Sunrise

Blurb:
Born with the unusual ability to see what truly lies in the shadows, Emalee Black is stuck between two worlds, the paranormal and the human. Neither one accepts or understands her and she's forced to live a quiet, boring life in hiding. When her best friend mentions 1Night Stand dating service, Ema chooses a role-playing adventure straight out of her romantic fantasies. She's to hunt her very own vampire and have her wicked way him.

Vampire Darian Wyman is surprised when his daughter signs him up for a one-night stand with an exclusive matching agency. At first he's appalled by the idea, but as he reads the details of the date he becomes intrigued. For one night he will get away from the life he has long grown tired of to be hunted and captured by a would-be huntress. But he has plans of his own for his little vixen.

However, when Darian discovers the truth about Ema's inhuman abilities, the date could end before it gets started.

Excerpt
Emalee’s pulse raced as she drummed her fingers on her desk and searched the website. A giddiness she hadn’t known since senior prom ran through her. The site claimed unlimited possibilities, a chance for adventure. Could they mean it? Because she’d already seen things beyond what humans deemed possible. Hell, her whole existence was unimaginable.

Her life had taken a lonesome turn when a friend she hadn’t seen since high school noted how much younger than the rest of her classmates she looked.  Her long-lasting youth had become a liability. Drawing too much attention to her unusual gift wouldn’t prove wise. In some cases, it could get her killed.  With no alternative, she’d closed the door on her life among humans and moved into the local witch coven, where everyone was different.

“What will you do?” Her best friend since preschool, a coven member in good standing, sat next to her for moral support and encouragement. Ema didn’t need much encouragement. The second Beth had mentioned a one-night stand, she’d been hooked. And Madame Eve’s dating service would save her from dying of boredom, at least for one night.

But could she go through with it? A wicked smile tugged at her lips and her inner voice said, “Hell, yeah.” Human strangers gave her a sense of safety. They knew nothing about her past or her unusual abilities.

“Just one night?”

Lia Davis is a mother to two young adults and two very special, equally different kitty cats. She’s a wife to her soul mate, who drives her crazy during editing/revisions. She and her family live in Northeast Florida battling hurricanes and very humid summers. But it’s her home and she loves it!

An accounting major, Lia has always been a dreamer with a very activity imagination. The wheels in her head never stop. She only recently became serious about publishing her work and loves it more than she imagined. Writing is a stress reliever that allows her to go off in her corner of the house and enter into another world she created, leaving the day job where it belongs.

Her favorite things are spending time with family, traveling, reading, writing, chocolate, coffee, nature and hanging out with her kitties.
