Angela S. Stone ~ Sometimes It's Fate ~ Review

Have I said how much I love Twitter lately? No? Well I do! Since I started twittering or tweeting which every way you want to say it. I have made lots of new friends (readers, bloggers, authors, and soon to be published authors).
One of my new twitter friends Carrie Ann Ryan introduced me to her friend and author, Angela S. Stone. This is one of the reasons I joined twitter to meet new people and authors -I love it!

Take a look at Angela's new release -
Sometimes It's Fate

Jason McCarthy is gay. He’s also a police officer living in a small-minded northern New Brunswick town where being gay could spell the end of his career. When an impending snowstorm threatens to strand his best friend and policing partner, David, Jason offers up his spare room for the night--a move that reveals Jason’s secret, and changes their friendship and lives forever.

David Richard isn’t gay--at least he doesn’t think he is. He knows he loves his best friend, and he admits to feelings that had started after a tragic accident almost a year before. When David acts on these feelings, it doesn’t go well, leaving both men alone and hurt. Jason, however, doesn’t think twice about stepping in and rescuing David’s children when their mother abandons them. The move brings David and Jason back together, but Jason’s past rears its ugly head and they both have to make difficult decisions that are sometimes best left up to fate.

Review~

After finishing Sometimes It’s Fate, written by Angela Stone, I am left somewhat perplexed.  Not perplexed about the book itself, which was very enjoyable, more so about a pivotal juncture I have reached in my own life upon reflecting on the content of this book!  If you have not had the opportunity of reading a book written about male/male relations, I highly suggest that Sometimes It’s Fate be your first.
Angela’s classy prose tells the love story of Dave and Jason.  Both men are employed in a traditionally viewed as macho/manly job, but macho men can’t be gay, right?  (excluding the Village People, who in my opinion happen to rock! – LOL – did I just date myself?)  Simply put, this is a beautiful love story about David and Jason, two officers of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.  This IS NOT just a story about two gay guys; instead, it is a tale about two souls that are in love and they just happen to both be male.  Jason knows he is gay and is openly “out” to his family, but he has chosen to keep it on the down-low when it comes to work.  He has secretly loved his partner, David, since he first hired on at their detachment.  For David, a father of three that has been divorced from his wife for a few years, the struggle comes in understanding how it’s possible to love his partner, Jason, because he knows he is not gay – it just feels right to love Jason.  Through this journey, Jason helps David realize that anything is possible and that Sometimes It’s Fate.  I am anxiously awaiting her next book!
