Courage is feeling the fear... then pouring on the throttle.
Abandoned or betrayed by everyone she ever loved, Sera Manning’s life
spiraled out of control until a near death experience left her with a mission.
Now a DEA agent, her sole focus -- and her first undercover assignment -- is to
take down a drug cartel that’s manufacturing seductive, deadly angel sugar.
To do it, she needs access to Operation Black Abyss to establish a connection
between the cartel and the Death Angels outlaw motorcycle gang. Which means she
must pose as a couple with another agent who’s already deep undercover.
ATF agent Ryan Thomas desperately needs a female agent to maintain his cover
in the gang, but the last thing he wants is a rookie agent jeopardizing his op.
Especially one that is a sexy reminder why it’s a bad idea to get involved
while on a case.
Living together, surrounded by crime, pretending their sizzling sexual
tension is just for show is getting harder by the day. But as the mission comes
to a head, the two fiercely independent warriors must decide which fear is
worse. Losing their quarry... or losing each other.
Review ~
The
scent of leather, sweat, beer, loud music, drugs, the feel of
vibrations from a Harley between your legs and rough men. This is just the beginning to Kelly Jamieson's Hot Ride. From the start of this book I was hooked. The
characters are relatable and you feel for them on so many levels -
their pain, confusion, and lust. The story is fast paced and I blew through the 335 pages like it was a short story. I couldn't stop … I needed to know what was going to happen and how it was going to end (which I didn't want it to). If you’re
looking for a book that will take you on a HOT (suspenseful, lust
filled, action packed) RIDE then this is my recommendation to you!
Two agents (ATF &DEA) thrown together undercover to take down a rough and rowdy biker gang that is trafficking
drugs and weapons. They must "pretend" to be a couple to complete this
mission and that seems to be the least of their problems. The sexual chemistry between these two will throttle up your engine for sure. Sera is a take no
sh*t kinda girl who has worked hard to get where she is and she isn't
going to let some guy try to tell her what and how to do something, even
though she hasn't had any undercover experience. Ryan isn't sure he
wants Sera on this but he can't deny the chemistry and "need" he has for her. He learns quickly that Sera can handle herself and she becomes a true partner.
Lines begin to blur when tragedy happens and secrets are revealed—Who can you trust, who are your real friends, and what do you really want?—
become questions asked. Being undercover can make you question
yourself, your values, and your sanity. These are things Sera and Ryan
go through while taking down the gang, stopping the drugs, weapons, and
closing the case.
This book will rev you up and leave you idling high for more from Kelly Jamieson.
