It's our sixth day of the hop and only one more left to go! Have you stopped by all the blogs and seen what they have for your goody bags?
While prepping for this hop I asked on Twitter for people to recommend me books and for author to tell me about theirs. One night last week about midnight or so (yeah, yeah I know I never sleep) I got a response from author Kate Davies (one of the infamous Nine Naughty Novelists). Kate just so happened to be on that late because she was stranded in Denver airport! Sucked for her but it helped me - Thanks Kate - xoxo.
Kate told me about one of her short stories she had written about a druid on Samhain (no not the publisher, although it is published through them -lol). Samhain is also know as Halloween. Anyway here 's the blurb to get an idea of the story...

Scientist Moira Sinclair doesn't believe in magic. Or at least she hasn't since childhood. She's only come to Iona in remembrance of her long-deceased grandmother, the last person who encouraged her fanciful side. But now she's stumbled onto a secret druid ritual-and into another time. Aedan Ap Crannog is furious to discover an outsider spying on their sacred, banned Samhain rites. With her strange garb and stranger mannerisms, Moira is unlike any woman he's ever known. But she could cause trouble for him and the people who follow him in the ancient ways. To prevent her from sounding the alarm, he takes her captive, hiding her in the labyrinth of caves along the far shore. Despite their differences, sparks burn between them as brightly as the Samhain bonfire. Now captive and captor must find a way to bridge the centuries before the magic disappears with the dawn. Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex.
I thought it sounded perfect to fill your trick or treat basket with :)
Kate was also sweet enough to indulge me in a few quick Halloween questions.
1. Do you have any Halloween traditions?
For the past nine years we lived in the "go-to" trick or treat neighborhood, the one families would drive to on Halloween. We'd get close to 400 trick or treaters a year! So on Halloween night, we'd get together with neighbors for dinner, then one of us would take the kids out trick or treating while the other passed out candy. We always made sure to stop by certain houses - especially the one where our friend would give the grown-ups a "treat" - hot apple cider with a kick. :)
We recently moved to a new town, and I was a little sad to think those days were over - only to discover that our new neighborhood is even more popular! I'm excited to see what Halloween is like here, even though the neighbors have already scared us with talk of a thousand kids on a busy Halloween!
2. What is the one thing that scares you most on Halloween? (it's clowns for me)
Running out of candy.
No, honestly, I'm a big wuss. Scary movies/haunted houses/etc are totally not my thing. It all scares me.
3. What is you favorite Halloween character? (I love anything fairytale)
I love, love, love matched costumes - Romeo and Juliet, Bert and Ernie, a cookie and a big glass of milk... A clever couples costume idea always makes me smile.
Thank you once again to Kate and I'm happy you made it home safe and in time for Halloween and all the fun.
