Review ~

Carrie Ann Ryan’s Dust Of My Wings was white-lightening-super-hot-and-sizzling!

Shade Griffin has a wee-bit of a problem with letting his angelic dust trickle here and there, especially when he’s distracted.  This unfortunate dusting has put his wings in the wringer and he must collect it before it ends up in the wrong hands and exposes his supernatural kind which is a major no-go.  Lily Banner is a lab technician who has been tasked with analyzing this mysterious blue dust and now her life is at stake, too.  Add in the mysterious crackling lightening event (no spoilers here!) and holy heck you’ve got one heck of a tale to read.

Even though they both have slight hesitancies, the connection the two make is palpable right from the start.  Lily’s shyness is no match for Shade’s direct persistence and once he breaks through her initial cautionary attitude, GAME-IS-ON! The chemistry between the two escalates, taking them from sexy motorcycle rides, a dinner out on the town and then on to dessert back at Lily’s place. And I’m not talking about the frou-frou strawberry cheesecake kind of dessert here...it’s all about a slice of Shade with an extra scoop of Shade if ya know what I mean... Yum-mmy!

Along the way we meet Lily’s close-knit group of friends that are more like a family to her, as well as Ambrose who happens to be Shade’s best friend. All her friends have unique—but complementing to each other—personalities, making for quite an eclectic group, but one that sticks together no matter what. Ambrose, though broody, cracked me up with his one-liners but more importantly his loyalty and determination in keeping his best friend safe.

Ambrose has piqued my curiosity to no end and I can’t wait for his story next.  Ms. Ryan...please, please, please say you’re writing a book for each of the girls!
