Jennifer Ryan - The Hunted Series Tour

I love books. My love of reading began my love of writing. It probably started with Nora Roberts and all her wonderful stories. I read them one after the other, loving the way she weaved a story together to captivate her audience and keep them coming back for more.
I write romantic suspense and contemporary romances, but I love to read historical romance. Give me a buff, gorgeous Scottish Laird, or a sexy Marquis and I'm there. I love to lose myself in the story and another time and forget everything going on in my life. I imagine the carriages, men on horseback, the lavish balls, and women in their fancy dresses. Such a different time and experience from what we know.

The first historical novel I ever read is Judith McNaught's Almost Heaven. From the first book to her last, I've been hooked. Then I discovered Hannah Howell and all her Scottish Lairds. Hot guys in kilts with swords on horseback, fighting epic battles. Does it get any better? From there, I expanded and voraciously read Stephanie Laurens and Sabrina Jefferies and recently discovered another favorite, Monica McCarty. I love how she weaves a history lesson into her stories. Can't wait for the next Highland Guard novel to come out.
I do read in my own genres. Research. Yes, let's call it research. It's not just for fun, it's for work. After all, if you're going to write a romantic suspense it never hurts to see what other authors are writing. Right? It's not because those other authors are awesome at their craft and I fall into their stories and get to the end and think, "Wow, how'd she do that?"

I find inspiration in reading. After finishing a great novel, I itch to write. The ideas start flowing and one takes hold. The story comes to life, the characters start talking, and before you know it my fingers are flying across the keyboard.

My mother was an avid reader and passed that love on to me, which in turn inspired me to write. Now, we share books, and I tell her about the stories I'm writing. Our relationship has grown closer over our love of books. I look forward to our summer trips to the lake, the kids playing with grandpa and dad on the boat, and mom and I on shore under the umbrella, reading.

Share your love of books and maybe make a friend.

The Hunted series continues as Special Agent Sam Turner discovers that protecting the FBI's star witness is more difficult than he thought!

Bakery owner Elizabeth Hamilton's quiet life is filled with sweet treats, good friends, and a loving family. But all of that is about to turn sour when an odd sound draws her outside. There's a man lying unconscious in the street, a car speeding toward him. Without hesitation, she gets the man out of harm's way before they're run down.

Unwittingly, Elizabeth has put herself in the path of a serial murderer, and as the only one who can identify the FBI's Silver Fox Killer, she's ended up in the hospital with a target on her back.

All that stands between her and death is Special Agent Sam Turner. Against his better judgment, Sam gets emotionally involved, determined to take down the double threat against Elizabeth—an ex desperate to get her back, despite a restraining order, and a psychopath bent on silencing her before she can identify him.

They set a trap to catch the killer—putting Elizabeth in his hands, with Sam desperate to save her. If he's lucky, he'll get his man … and the girl.
