To start off the Wet and Wild Giveaway Hop I decided to kick it off with one of my favorite authors Miss Skye Warren. Since I picked up her first book I have been under her Sirens call. Skye Warren writes those things that make you cringe and melt all at once. She is one of my guiltiest pleasures and I LOVE IT.

I love recommending books to people I know read the same stuff  I do or even those I think are on the border of light and fluffy and the dark side. When I heard that our reviewer Casey Lu had not read the dark, disturbing, magnificently, wonderful Skye Warren  I knew it would be a perfect fix and as with any fix, once you get a taste of it... you crave and need more!

So, once again I feel like a drug  book pusher.  I have addicted another reader to the writings of author Skye Warren and I am excited about it. Can I addict you too?(muawhahahahaha)

Skye Warren is one of these authors you just can't stop reading!

Can love come from pain?

Evie always dreamed of seeing the world, but her first night at a motel turns into a nightmare. Hunter is a rugged trucker willing to do anything to keep her—including kidnapping. As they cross the country in his rig, Evie plots her escape, but she may find what she's been looking for right beside her.

Wanderlust is a dark erotic novel which explores dubious consent, captivity, and power play. Not intended for those uncomfortable with the subject matter or under eighteen.

REVIEW ~

This was a great one!! Truly pushed me with this one! Please read through this review and let me know if it spoils to bad. I don’t want to give away to much of the story.

The first word that comes to my head after finishing Wanderlust is just plain wow! I never thought I would be able to read a book that pushed so many major boundaries for me. While I understand both characters, at the same time I kept wondering why she would also crave what he was putting her through.  These two broken people really did need each other, but LAWD how they got together is so traumatic really.

Evie was in a prison not of her own making. Her mother’s illness has had her trapped her whole life. She has no idea how people truly interact with each other on an ever day basis, and her perceptions of men come from a boyfriend from her teenaged years and her mother’s boyfriend that raped her. She has made the choice to finally leave her mother’s house and strike out on her own, but her first night out doesn’t go as good as she thought it would.

All her life her mother has warned Evie of the dangers of this world, but what she thought would instill protective instincts in Evie actually made her not be able to see the real dangers of this world. She is totally defenseless when she runs into the dangerously handsome Hunter.

Hunter has wounds of his own. He wants Evie for his own, and decides she is his. He attempts to buy her supper, but she turns him down. But that doesn’t stop him from taking her. He takes her in his semi-truck, but not before spending the night claiming her in almost every way possible. And although Evie is scared for her life a part of her responds to his ruff dominance of her. The longer they are together the more she gets to know him and understand him, but a part of her still wants to escape. Will she give into the needs he brings out in her??

This book has a couple of firsts for me. It is my first Skye Warren read and the first book that pushed into the world of non-consent love story. I really have to say though I was antsy at times, I truly loved this book. I know that it will not be for everyone, because not everyone will see the beauty behind the ugly in the story. But LAWD sometimes the best love stories are built on the darkest of hours. I truly hope if you give this one a try that you enjoy it as much as I have.
