Alex St. Jones, black sheep of the famous St. Joneses, is the playboy of playboys whose only love affair is his freedom. He lives by one rule: Enchant them. Seduce them. Leave them. But that's about to change when a midnight temptress stumbles upon him and demands he kiss her.

Carly Mitchell wants nothing to do with Alex St. Jones. She hates his good looks, his arrogance. Plus, he won't leave her alone no matter what she does. Most importantly, she hates that she's falling for him. But she's determined not to go down without a fight and to teach him a lesson at that.Alex may have met the one woman he cannot tame, but he doesn't plan on letting that stop him. 

Will Carly withstand his charms? When two strong personalities collide, sparks are sure to fly.

Review:

I thoroughly enjoyed reading A Playboy's Love Affair by author Emily Quinn and it's incredible that this is her debut book. The beginning of the story had a bit of mystery that captures your attention and you find yourself wanting to keep on reading to see what's happening. 

Alex St. Jones is the all-around playboy who lives by his one rule which is to enchant, seduce and leave the woman before it gets serious. He refuses to have anything to do with marriage. Little does he know, he will meet his match and the woman that will change everything.

Carly Mitchell is a successful interior designer who mysteriously appears in Alex's life one dark night and demands he kiss her. His reaction to her demand was priceless and I couldn't stop chuckling throughout this scene. I really enjoyed how strong this heroine is and how she is not afraid to speak her mind or act on her feelings.

Alex and Carly's relationship is a rocky one, to say the least. Carly's impulsive kiss has serious consequences for Alex and his business so he retaliates by binding her to a six month contract where she is at his "beckon call." Sounds familiar to all you Pretty Woman fans? 

Carly does not take this lightly and she fights him almost every step of the way.

I loved the bantering between Alex and Carly in this story and the author did a terrific job writing the dialogue in this book which seemed true-to-life. I could so picture someone speaking these words in real life and the drama and angst that went along with it. I admit I enjoyed Carly bringing Alex's ego down a notch or two, LOL. They were a perfect match for each other because neither overpowered one another; they both gave as good as they got in and out of the bedroom. The sex scenes were well-written and had just the right amount of heat to leave the reader satisfied. 

I really enjoyed the different elements in this story such as the love/hate relationship Alex had with this parents, the friendship that Alex and Carly had with married couple Paul and Kiera, Alex's jealousy of Carly's best friend, Jay and the humor of the gossip columnist's announcements about the infamous bachelor Alex. I hooted with laughter each time and they were well-placed and flowed with the story. I would recommend this wonderful story and fresh new voice to romance readers.
