Sue Lyndon is a "new to me" author and I am happy to have her here with us today. As most of you know I am a huge fan of BDSM and I am always on the look out for a new author to try out and tell you all about.

Where did you come up with the idea? I wanted to write a story with an arranged marriage, but I was too lazy to do any historical research to write a historical book so I decided on science fiction with aliens instead!  
What genres does your books fall under? Do you like writing in multiple genres? What’s your favorite? 

I write erotic BDSM romance and spanking romances. Within this genre, I’ve written contemporary, historical western, science fiction, and fantasy. Science Fiction is my favorite to write though.  

What actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? 
Hmmm…how about Manu Bennett and Bryce Dallas Howard.

 


What can we expect next from you? I have a few plans already for 2013, but the one I’m most excited about right now is that my short story “Confession Time” will be included in a spanking anthology called Coming to Terms, due to release in May.

Sherri Hayes ~ Slave ~ Review

I just want to take a minute and say Thank you to my friend Taryn from My Secret Romance Blog for recommending that I read this book. Taryn knows I like my books a little dark and we had been talking about what was to read and she asked me if I had heard of author Sherri Hayes. Sadly at the time I had to say no but she went on to tell me about all the talk that was going on about her on Goodreads and that she thought it was a book right up my alley.
I'm happy to say she was right!! I loved this book and it's not only dark but it has heart and lots of emotion. I was not expecting what I got out of this book. I figured it would have sex and be a bit rough from just the title but as I say below in my review I got so much more than I bargained for, I hope you don't see the title and say "not my thing" cause you will be missing out on a tender love story.

Are you looking for a BDSM Romance or another "Fifty Shades" kind of book? Well this is not it, this book gives us so much more. This is a story of a broken girl turned into a Slave, used, abused, and tormented until a stranger comes along and purchases her. YES PURCHASES HER!

After saying that I'm sure you are gonna think the same thing I did... Non-consent sex, more torture, sex, BDSM games, and abuse but that’s not what we get at all. We get a tender story about a man, Stephan, who sees a broken girl who needs him and what he understands... the beauty and need for submission.

Brianna lead a very sheltered life until one day when she was taken and made to become a Slave for a wealthy masochist who enjoyed harming and torturing her. While Brianna learned to submit and be obedient to his demands, she lost bits of herself as well. Now she has been sold and doesn't understand her new Master and what he wants. He is so different from what she believes to be a "Master." He is kind, loving, and thoughtful and this confuses her.

Slave is Brianna's journey into a new life, a new world, and to a new and true Master.
I loved both Stephan and Brianna—they are great characters and I felt so much for both of them. They were both sent through struggles and only together could they get through them.

Favorite things:
The nightly chair cuddles and talks they would have.
How she would greet him at the door and how he would lovingly touch her.
I enjoyed how the author gave us both (2) POV's - it made it even better knowing how they both were feeling and what they were going through.

Disliked:
I wanted more!
Some people may have issues with the mistreatment of Brianna but it is all shown in a memory or conversation so it does lessen the harshness (I feel).

BDSM Event Opening Post

Welcome to the BDSM Event. This event has been organized by Scorching Book Reviews and will take place from the 2nd-20th August. 

BDSM is everywhere at the moment and we thought we'd show that BDSM isn't just about sex or kink; its about two people mutually agreeing to exchange power in certain aspects of their lives. It isn't about gender inequality, perversion or anything sinister; its about choice and enjoyment for ALL those involved in the relationship, no matter how kinky. We want to show off some of our personal favorites, give you a chance to familiarize yourselves with some names and just generally show what BDSM is.  

Over the course of this month we will be showcasing some very talented authors from this genre (including a few personal favorites!). They will be talking to us about some aspects of BDSM that appears in their books and, in some cases, their real lives. There is also a whole host of Giveaways too, just to give people a chance to experience some books from this genre!

I am a huge BDSM fan and when Nix asked me to be part of this I was very excited. My normal "go to" reading is BDSM and I read a lot of it. I'm sure there are others out there like me that love this genre and have come across some amazing works as well as some that... needs lots of help. 

I have read most of the authors featured in this hop and Love them all - some I would even beg for :) Anyway... back on track Dawn...
