Review~

I was lucky to get an ARC copy of A Taste for a Mate (book #2 in the Redwood Pack series) and let me tell you...it's one tasty morsel.  In this book we get to meet the whole Jamenson family and find out a bit more about the Redwood Pack. Jasper Jamenson is the Beta of the pack and is in charge of protecting it so he has no time for anything else until he comes across the yummiest scent "cinnamon/Mate,"  he goes in search of it and finds Willow Denton, a bakery shop owner and human.

Jasper realizes that since she is human he needs to take things slow, so after weeks of stopping by the shop he finally asks her out. Little did Jasper or Willow know that there were others at work - evil at work against them. Willow is forcefully thrown into a paranormal world of her nightmares - werewolves, demons, and witches.

Carrie Ann Ryan has done it again for me with the wonderful world she has created. I adore her characters and have become very fond of two in particular (Adam & Maddox).  I can't wait for April when Trinity Bound comes out so I can see what happens next. Once again she has made me cry, but also made made me laugh through the whole book! Great job and I highly recommend this book and author.

After finishing book 2.5 in Jennifer Ashley's Shifters Unbound series I can't wait for book 3! I'm normally not a huge shifter fan, but Primal Bonds' (book #1) cover kept drawing me in til I read it and I was so happy I did. Jennifer Ashley has created a wonderful, yet disturbing, world where shifters are known to humans. Humans have "collared" the shifters with Fae magic to keep control of them and they have collared them in small towns with little to no luxuries. But the shifters have thrived and developed a community. 

 

In this book- Bodygaurd (Book #2.4) Ronan (Kodiak bear shifter) comes to the rescue of Elizabeth Chapman, who is a small shop owner. What they don't realize is that Ronan saving her from a robbery has just now opened up a whole new can of worms- the robber is the the brother of a local crime boss and is not happy about getting caught or being taken down by a lowlife shifter.

 

Ronan realizes he must mate claim her so that he can protect her and her little sister now because it's no longer safe. This seems to be what Ronan does, he takes in those that have nowhere else to go. Elizabeth and her sister should feel weird or uncomfortable being in Shiftertown but they don't, it feels comfortable-right.

 

The robbery has brought Elizabeth's past back to haunt her and the only thing that can save her now is Ronan, her "Bodygaurd" and his mate claim. 

 

I really enjoyed this book, Ronan is one of my favorite characters in the series, so to finally see him get his book and his HEA I was very happy. Ronan is everything I think of when I think of a (teddy) bear - cuddly, sweet, gentle, and full of love to give. I'm hoping with fingers crossed that we will see Ellison get his book soon, as he is another of my favorite characters. All I can say is don't miss this series-great characters, world building, gorgeous covers, and amazing writing.

Review ~

After reading Possess Me (Bk. 1) and meeting Bone Daddy, I knew I just had to have more of him; his decadent world of New Orleans, and voodoo. This time 'round we get to know a little more about the other Toussaint twin, Gabriel. Gabriel is a very moody, tormented, and confused man. He has been kept away from his family since childhood--being told that they were evil--but now he is back and not alone. Gabriel has returned home at the request of a nosy bothersome ghost/guardian, Emmanuel (Manny).

Gabe doesn't want to be back, especially when he meets Angelique, his sister's young friend. The pull between them is so intense neither can fight it even if they truly wanted to. Angelique, the baby of the family, is thought to be the sweet innocent one and is always protected; little do they know that Angelique has a wild side to her and she has decided to let Gabriel see just how wild and free she can be by saying yes to one night of "Just Sex" sex (WOW- what a night!).

Manny tries to keep Gabe focused on why he has been brought back to New Orleans and his family. Gabriel has a gift just like his twin sister but, if he doesn't focus and pay attention, it could have dire circumstances for all of them.

I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it! RG Alexander has a terrific writing style that grabs you and draws you in from the first few words and won't let you go until the very end - but then you will still want more of Bone Daddy and his friends.

While I love me some Bone Daddy...(I mean how can't you) I think that Tempt Me has really piqued my interest in Emanuel and I sure hope we get more from the Big Easy soon, 'cause it sure isn't easy waiting for it.
