Undone Dom reviewed by Kat

Undone Dom by Lila Dubois

Undone Dom (Undone Lovers, #2)Alton is the ultimate Master. An expert Dom, he believes BDSM is a lifestyle and trains women to serve in every way. He recognizes Lulu’s submissive nature but his instant attraction is unexpected and unnerving. He vows to take and train her.

Lulu has been curious about BDSM since her friend met and fell in love with a Dom. When Alton comes looking for her, Lulu indulges her greatest fantasy. In Alton’s BDSM training rooms she’s bound, disciplined and above all pleasured, experiences wilder than even her fantasies. But when she goes home at night, she dreams of Alton, not the whips.

Alton’s whole life has been turned upside down. A Master must live by his rules, but with Lulu he’s breaking every one. The Dom who swore that romance had no place in BDSM has to take a crash course in wooing if he’s going to keep the sub who’s got him in knots.

Reader Advisory: Contains very light female/female sensuality and a brief ménage encounter

 Review~

I was a little leery starting this book because I didn’t think I would like the hero. Alton is a Master Dom and he trains “slaves”. He kinda freaked me out! Lulu, the heroine, is very smart and runs her own business, Lulu L’amore, the rockabilly clothing store featured in the first book. I knew I liked her! She’s a red-head (like me!) and loves pinup clothing and is funny and snarky. Love her!  Alton met her in the first book and told her he would be back. *Dun-dun-dunnn* Lulu is curious about BDSM and researches it and talks with her friend Addie. She like dominant men, but she’s only been with domineering jerks! She has been waiting for Alton to come back because she’s been thinking about the possibilities. Alton finally returns for her and there’s a huge spark. Lila Dubois writes Alton so well, I couldn’t help but like him! He didn’t need a new sub to train but he was drawn back to Lulu, he feels the flame too and you experience his conflicting emotions… that his life has seemed a bit gray recently and he’s feeling that training pretty little sex slaves for other doms isn’t enough. Something is missing from his life. I kinda wanted to hug him, and Lila for writing him so well developed and multi-faceted. She lets us see into his heart beyond his big bad wolf persona.
Lulu decides to take a chance and explore the attraction between them. She’s not going to be just one of the subs he’s training, she will be his. It’s a different relationship for both of them, not Master and slave, but Master and mine. *sigh* that was hot! :p There are some kinky scenes introducing Lulu to his job training the NAKED women in his house. Sheesh! And some extremely hot bits with Lulu learning to be a submissive and letting go of her responsibilities for a while and trusting Alton to give her what she desires. Oh! And I learned some new uses for vegetables too. *blush* When you read the Victorian word, you’ll know what I’m talking about.  Lulu sees him. Wants him. Not just what Alton can teach her, but what he can personally brings to their relationship. And it is a relationship. It was entertaining to see Alton adjust to the different dynamic between the two of them and open up to Lulu.
I really liked him! I was extremely surprised by how much I loved Alton and Lula together. And I absolutely adored the sweet, sexy ending!
This was an educational ride for me…. I’m not going to go right out and buy lots of BDSM themed stories. :p But these books demonstrate why I read romance and what I appreciate about this genre. There’s a love story out there for each of us. And we can embrace our desires and be true to our selves. I believe with my whole heart that romance stories empower us to reach for love. That we are each deserving of being loved for who we are. And the characters in Lila Dubois Undone Lovers books do exactly that!  I definitely want to read the next book in this series; I hope its Emory’s story.

Undone Rebel reviewed by Kat

Undone Rebel (Undone Lovers # 1) Book one in the Undone Lovers series.

When amateur fetish model and rockabilly princess Adelita “Addie” Sanchez is asked to model for an instructional BDSM book, she turns the offer down—she’s not a porn star. Then she meets the three male Dominants behind the project, including Lane Therres, who convinces her the book is more art than porn, and she’ll be safe in his hands.

The rules of the photo sessions are clear—there’s no sex, and Addie can call a halt to anything she’s uncomfortable with. But self-reliant, strong-willed Addie doesn’t count on liking what the powerful Doms do to her body with their ropes, chains and toys. Enjoying Emory’s touch after falling for Lane, Addie turns away from both men, scared of what they’re making her feel. She’s worried that a relationship built on a BDSM contract can never be anything but whips and chains.

Lane will exchange Dom leather for shining armor to prove to his rockabilly princess that even the most gallant knights sometimes prefer dungeons.

 Review~

Ok… Dawn asked me to review Lila Dubois’ Undone Rebel series and I said “Sure” cause I met Lila at the Romantic Times Book Convention and she’s adorable and the book covers in this series are right up my alley. The heroines are into pinup and rockabilly and the beautiful covers reflect the flirty femininity of the girls. Soooo, even though I don’t read much BDSM…. Dawn! Stop laughing at me! *pause*  Bite Me! On second thought, ignore that- cause she probably would.
Well, I read Undone Rebel in one evening. And right away I wanted to be friends with Addie. She’s a seamstress and designs rockabilly clothes. She wears pinup dresses! She has vintage lingerie…. She’s a powerful, sexy woman and she loves to dress in the flirty pinup style. Oh. And she also fixes cars. Addie Rocks!
Addie has done a bit of modeling, some of it for Lulu L’amore, the store she works at, and some photos for a lingerie line. Those are the shots that bring her to the attention of a company that is putting together a coffee table art book on BDSM. There are three Doms who have written the text and now they need a female model that is NOT familiar with BDSM so they can introduce her to it and capture her reactions on film. She gives it a lot of thought. Her friend, Lulu, calls it a visitor’s pass to kinky sex land! Addie decides to try it, with an explicit contract breaking down the rules. ie. there would not be actual intercourse during the photo shoot, everything up to it. But it would be for ART.
She arrives on set and Lane is the first of the three Doms who are scheduled to have a session with her. Lane became a Dom because he loves women and wanted to learn how they think and what pleases them. He works a normal job and keeps the BDSM to bedroom play. He is very attracted to Addie and sees the submissive possibilities in her. I enjoyed the dynamic between them and their humor and chemistry.
Soooo, *blush* She does her first photo session with Lane and its very steamy and HOT. One thing that got me though was Lane cuts off her pretty lingerie! I was all, Oh! NOOO! Not the lingerie! Lol But she learns not to wear anything irreplaceable to future sessions. :p
For me, this story was a good introduction to BDSM. I was on the same journey as Addie when Lane was introducing her to what is involved. He teaches her about a Dom’s responsibility to his submissive, the trust involved and the pleasure experienced. He tells Addie he’s not looking for love.  For Addie, love conquers all. This was reassuring to me. I need heart with my steam! It was fun to see the relationship that develops with Lane and love to sneak up on him. I was surprised that I did actually like the book. Some of it was a bit uncomfortable for me, but Lila did a very good job introducing Addie, and me as a newbie, to the BDSM lifestyle and the power and emotions involved and watching Addie accept that submission was one of her turn-on’s was empowering. At its core, Undone Rebel is a romance. Yep, there’s (to me) kinky sex, but there’s love and emotion and lots of heart and I loved Addie and Lane and I enjoyed their journey.

Introducing Kat from The Book Tart ~ Guest Reviewer

Hi. My name is Kat, and I am a bookaholic. I love reading, I love stories, I love books and most of all, I love reading romance. I collect books. I like to own them so I can re-read my favorites when they mood strikes me. I have scads of books, thousands… I’m not sure of the exact number. it’s on my to do list. I want to catalog all my physical books so I stop buying duplicates (which I do with embarrassing frequency!) The notion to catalog my collection came to me a few years ago… and though I haven’t made much progress on that front- I decided as long as I was hiring a web designer to help make my book collection database look nice, why not ask them to work on a project I’d began dreaming about. And that’s how The Book Tart came to be.
My brand, new, shiny website is www.thebooktart.com and it’s a place for me to share my passion for all things fiction! I have a blog and I vlog (YouTube channel) in my pinup outfits! A little bit of my personal collection of books it cataloged. I plan to have a forum to chat about books, soon-ish. I review books and have drafted a few friends to help with more reviews as well. That part of the site is one of the parts still under construction!
But the part I am most excited about is my New Fiction Release database. Stop on by and check it out at http://thebooktart.com/new-fiction-release/ It’s cookie dough. All the ingredients are there, but it’s not quite done baking… :p It is the only place I know that you can find a list of new releases and select the month you’re interested in, choose the day of the month to narrow the list down even further. For example, June, 2012 has 1032 titles listed in my database! *squee!* You can select the date and scroll through an alphabetical list of releases for the day you choose. The database is searchable by author, title and ISBN and has links to major online retailers if you are interested in buying the book. The database is a work in progress… And it’s taking forever to finish! I still want a wish list function so I can save the books that catch my eye to a personal list and view them later! I also want to be able to manually add books that the database programming has missed or has incomplete data. My geeks say they are working on that. But, if you notice titles I have missed or things I need to correct please email me at queenoftarts@thebooktart.com I’ll add them to my honey do list. J
My website has a contest going on right now because I accidentally bought 2 copies of Katie Macalister’s brand new book Sparks Fly. See? I buy duplicates because I have soooo many books and a glitchy memory :p  Enter to win “My goof is your gain” contest with 2 books and a whole lotta swag. Contest ends this Sunday night at midnight East coast time. http://thebooktart.com/new-fiction-release/new-contest/
I would like to thank Dawn for asking me to guest review here. “Thanks Hon!” I met her at the Romantic Times Book Convention in L.A. in 2011. My friend Lisa and I asked her to be our roommate for this year’s convention and we had a BLAST! It was soooo fun! I am very thankful I am friends with Dawn. She lets me pick her brain and helps me out with blogging and reviewing tips! I was very excited when she gave me the opportunity to review Lila Dubois books with rockabilly heroines. I am all about the pinup. My website is going for a pinup vibe and I love the fashion of the 1940s and 1950s. I dress in pinup clothes when I get the opportunity. Here’s my Pinupalicious pinterest board http://pinterest.com/thebooktart/pinupalicious/
I hope you enjoy me reviews of Lila’s Undone Lovers series the next few days.

((((hugs)))
