Out From Under ~ Blog Tour

We are happy to be a part of Selene Chardou's Blog Tour for Out From Under. This is a 350 page book released on July 31, 2013 from Midnight Engel Press.
Blurb:

"I have always been strong, independent and wanted a life that belonged to me. It's the very reason why I chose to attend Stanford because it is away from the small-town life that seems more Twin Peaks than charming. Secrets are a dangerous commodity and Pine Bluff has them in spades. So do my parents, and the dirtiest secret of all is my brother, Trey. Sergeant at Arms for the Demon's Bastards, a criminal, a felon, and perhaps the catalyst for the tragedy that destroyed my life just days before I was supposed to leave for college.

"Now I am on the run because my life is in danger and I could be next. I don't want to live my whole life looking over my shoulder and I don't want to live my life shrouded in despair. Anxiety has me in a death grip, unable to let go. I pop Xanax to get through the day and were it not for my famous cousin, I would probably be dead already.

"My name is Trista Lennon, and I am tired of being afraid."

Linx Carter never thought he could help anyone when he could barely help himself. He is hanging on by a thread after a tough, six-month Gods of Rock Tour with his band, Winter's Regret, and Scarlet Fever. He has a greedy ex-wife, two sons and all he wants is to put the pieces of his life back together.

Linx knows there is something special about Trista from the moment they meet. She's wounded, in desperate need of a friend yet feminine, feisty and no one's charity case. She is the strongest woman he has ever known.

Through their friendship, they will find the strength to heal themselves and love one another but a feud between two gangs is brewing. Trista is caught in the crossfire, and by proxy, so is Linx. What they discover might not only cost them the love they have for one another but their lives too.

Explicit Excerpt:

I pulled back after our kiss ended. “She already knew. GPS tracking and what not. The phone is registered on her account. It can’t be that hard for two ex-Navy SEALs to find out direct longitude and latitude. She has no clue what we’re doing here, so who cares? We’ll be married in less than an hour.”

He smiled and this time when he kissed me, his mouth devoured mine, and it was the absolute best feeling. His lips suckled on my bottom lip before my mouth opened and was set on fire, the kiss turning into a soul-stirring lip-lock that had me coming up for breath.

Linx’s lips trailed down to my neck as he pushed aside the lapels of my rope to display my breasts. His fingers squeezed my nipples until they were rock hard; it was an exquisite pain, and the feel of his calloused hands on my soft breasts caused heat to spread through my skin. My whole being ached with want and need.

His tongue replaced his fingers on my right breast,  the warmth of his breath and that beautiful organ in his mouth was intoxicating. I felt light-headed from the stir of emotions and my stomach burst with the wings of butterflies. The feeling between my legs was worse because I was so turned on, I just wanted him to take me; no prerequisites, nothing but his hard cock inside me.

As his mouth circled my nipple, sucking hard, his free hand reached between my legs and massaged my aching clit. He quickly plunged two fingers inside of me, eliciting a gasp from me at the sensation.

The orgasm he coaxed from my body shook me to my very core and drenched his fingers in my juices. His mouth came to meet mine again and I moaned against it as his tongue forced its way between my lips, as he kissed me passionately, deeply. I stood on shaky legs as he withdrew his fingers and placed them in his mouth—fuck that was the ultimate turn on—before he grabbed me by the back of my neck and kissed me again.

A sudden knock on the window rudely interrupted us. We both looked to see Kelly, the shopper, smiling at us though her face was flushed like she’d run a marathon.

“How the hell did she get back inside our suite?” My heavy breathing tried to keep up with the thunderous beating of my heart.

Linx had completely and utterly did a number on me and the worst part was I never saw it coming.

“She’s got a card key to the room, babe.” He kissed me again quickly before he rested his head on my shoulder and stroked my back with gentle hands.

“My clothes must be here,” I whispered to him.

“I can’t wait to strip the dress off you later tonight,” he said to me, his mouth close to my left ear.

We stared at one another and I could see, and feel, his desire for me. Neither of us attempted to move though the sooner we got rid of Kelly, the sooner we could get married and finally have sex.

Review ~

The writing team of Sorcha Black, Leia Shaw, and Cari Silverwood is pretty much a dream team when it comes to writing a book together seamlessly. Their different writing styles blend together beautifully. Until I read their first book I had only read one other book with FF elements, and it is way out of my comfort zone. But these ladies have me sitting on pins and needles waiting for each installments of this series!

Reece and Scarlet really have an amazing relationship, but the only problem is that they can’t get their kinks to line up. They really are thinking too much about what they should do and not just letting it flow. When Reece’s friend Sabrina suggests they use Malachi as a Domme trainer/mentor, they are hesitant at first. Scarlet has the opportunity to meet him first and likes his personality. She really thinks that he can help them, but the second Reece sees him there is a big problem!!

Malachi is still trying to put the pieces back together after his breakup with his last sub Ivy. She literally ripped his heart to pieces when she left. He is not the strictest of Doms, but he thinks he can help Scarlet and Reece. When he sees Reece he doesn’t recognize her at first, but boy does she recognize him. He made her high school years torcher. He picked on her and got everyone to laugh at her, but that was to hide the fact that he had a massive crush on her and didn’t think she would go for him. (typical dumb boy!!) Helping the girls comes easy to Mal, but so do feelings of wanting to be a part of the action. Can he walk away when the training is done? Or will he leave a part of his heart behind?

I had to really process how much I loved this book, before I could sit down to write this review. There is just something so loveable about Malachi. You almost forget he has the big bad Dom thing down pat. I ran all the emotions with this book. They all had me laughing, crying, and happy sighing!! I also loved that we got to see glimpse of the peeps from the other books, because let’s face it I always need a visit from big bad Cross!!! ;) I really hope y’all love this series as much as I have!!! It is one that truly has my heart!

"He never saw love coming...until it crashed into him. "

Brooke Lowry has a mission: fly to Tahiti, pluck PR nightmare Dylan Schell out of whatever party he's in, bring him home and clean up his image.

It was her idea for Jackson Cole clothing company to sponsor the pro surfer. But the chances of saving this deal-and her career-look pretty slim when she finds the sexy party boy "shooting the curl" with two beach bunnies.

Dylan is finally getting back on track, and the next big event would put him over the top...if it wasn't being held in San Amaro, where he'd be forced to watch his best friends Matt and Corey tie the knot and move on without him.

He'll do anything to keep that from happening, including taking shameless advantage of a tropical cyclone-three days cut off from civilization-to distract the lovely Brooke into his bed.

Despite her moment or three of weakness, Brooke won't be deterred. And suddenly Dylan finds himself facing a lot of things-his hometown, his past, and something he didn't see coming. Love.

Warning: Check it, dude, this book contains a bad boy surfer who gets slammed by fierce waves but gets back up, a buttoned-up woman who learns to chillax, and some righteous shreddin' the gnarl.

Review ~

I just want to start off by saying I have LOVED all the books I've read by author Kelly Jamieson but her newest release, Slammed, is my favorite from the San Amaro Singles series and even her other books. The story and characters captured my attention right from the beginning and I could not wait to see what would happen next, especially since Dylan was such an unpredictable hero except when it came to sex. LOL!

I became totally smitten with Dylan who appeared in No Strings Attached, the first book in this series. Dylan was suffering so much pain after his surfing accident and then was left odd-man out after engaging in a threesome with his best friend, Matt and Corey. You couldn't help but "feel" for him and what he was going through. I could not wait to read his own story and the woman who would tame this sexy "bad" boy and capture his heart!

I adored Brooke who was strong, kind and could handle Dylan no matter what he "dished" out. I really enjoyed her first meeting with Dylan when she caught him in bed with two girls and I have to give "kudos" to her on how well she handled that awkward situation. I was chuckling throughout that scene because it was so much fun to read. It just got better and better as the story unfolded.

Kelly did an amazing job developing the relationship between Dylan and Brooke and their chemistry was "out of this world". OMG! The sex scenes were scorching HOT *fans self* and I could not get enough! Lucky for me, they were both insatiable. LOL! I enjoyed watching them fall in love and seeing the emotional connection they had beyond the sex.

It was great to see Matt and Corey again and see their close friendship with Dylan despite what happened in the past. I enjoyed their interaction with Brooke as well and waited with bated breath to see what would happen when Brooke found out the truth. She handled it with class and as much grace as possible and it was quite refreshing to see. Of course, being the romantic I am, I hoped she would forgive Dylan quickly since I loved them together.

I have to thank Kelly for writing such an awesome story and saving the best for last (though I hear there might be a possibility for more *crossing fingers*). This was SO worth the wait and I would definitely recommend this to romance readers. It can be read as a stand-alone but so much better if No Strings Attached is read first. I hope everyone enjoys this book as much as I did :)

Blurb:

Eight years ago, life was good for Tate Reilly. Living in Atlanta and attending college, her dream of becoming a doctor was within reach, and she was in love with Ryan Hart. Then one night while Tate slept, Ryan disappeared. No note, no phone call, nothing left of a love she thought would last forever. Confused and heartbroken, she doesn’t let it hold her back in her quest to become a physician. If anything, the hurt and disappointment only serve to fuel her drive to succeed.

Ryan never wanted to leave Tate behind the way he did, but sometimes life takes away the choice. The best way to spare Tate the disruption of her bright future with his problems is to make a clean break. So he does the hardest thing he’s ever done—he walks away from her.

Now Ryan is back in Atlanta, working as a sous chef in the most popular restaurant in the city, and he has every intention of winning Tate back, no matter what it takes. It’s not easy because Tate wants answers that Ryan’s not ready to give just yet. First, he needs to remind her of what they once had together. The heat between them is undeniable, and it’s not long before it melts her resistance and she starts to lose the grip on her heart again.

But until Ryan can come clean with Tate about why he left, she can’t fully forgive him and move on. Time doesn’t always heal all wounds. Sometimes you have to shed more blood to become whole again.

Excerpt:

A small part of Tate wanted to kill Ryan for tricking her, just reach out and wrap her hands around his throat and squeeze the life right out of him.

But the larger part of her, which unfortunately included the lady parts, wanted to touch him for other reasons, reasons that she suspected dictated her actions when she’d asked for his address rather than telling him to go back to the ER to be checked out. Besides, if he had truly been concerned about his arm possibly being infected, he wouldn’t have asked if she was working, he would’ve just gone to the hospital. Ryan valued his limbs too much to risk losing them to something like cellulitis or sepsis.

So that made her almost as culpable as he was.

She couldn’t concentrate while staring at him without a shirt on. His chest was too appealing and distracting. All bulgy solid muscle over thick bone, smooth tan skin, his areolas small and dark in … Holy crap, one of his nipples is pierced!

Before Tate could stop herself, she’d reached for it as if it was some sort of intriguing abnormality. She had seen piercings on patients naturally, but never one she wanted to touch as badly as she did his.

She didn’t even look up at his face for permission. When her fingers made contact with the small silver hoop, he flinched but didn’t move to stop her. She shifted closer then, running the tip of her finger around his nipple to watch it tighten, before she gave the ring a little indulgent tug.

Ryan hissed through his teeth, and his hands shot out to capture her hips, pulling her flush to his body. The more she toyed with the jewelry, the stiffer his cock grew against her stomach and the harder his fingertips dug into her jean-covered skin. And she had to admit, she liked that she could cause that reaction in him with such a simple touch. Feeling it made her wonder about something else, though.

“You didn’t pierce your…” Tate licked her lips, inexplicably shy with her words all of a sudden. Her eyes jumped up to his.

“My cock?” He grinned. “No. I’m not that brave.”

“Or crazy. I’ve seen horror stories, trust me on that.”

“I can imagine. This was a drunken impulse four years ago.”

She continued to finger the jewelry. “If you take it out, the hole will grow up.”

“I started to, but then … I kind of got used to it.”

Tate gave it another tug, causing him to make a soft grunting noise in his throat. “And there’s a direct correlation between the nerves in the nipple and the nerves in the genitals.”

Ryan laughed, pressing his erection against her stomach. “No kidding, Doc. I’m rock hard. ‘Course a lot of that has to do with the company.”

Tate had opened this door by touching him so intimately, and she was about to step through it. There was no denying she wanted him. Giving in to that desire might not be the smartest thing she’d ever done, but this was Ryan. They had a history, even though the last chapter was depressing. There was no question sex with him would be amazing. She’d worry about the ramifications later. For once, she wanted to act rash and bold and selfish.

“You should do that more often,” he said, reaching out to trace her bottom lip with his fingertip. “You’re beautiful, but when you smile? Wow.”

Uncomfortable with his overt compliments, Allegra sat there and let a guy she’d just met touch her lips with a slow, sensual caress. His fingertip traced her bottom lip in a butterfly-soft sweep that left her breathless.

Their eyes locked as he lowered his hand, and what she saw made her wish she could ditch Palm Bay and travel to Australia.

Blatant lust. Strong. Sexy. Seductive. His eyes deepened to an incredible green that matched a favorite jade pendant she wore often. He wanted her, and in this crazy moment, the feeling was entirely mutual.

He raised his beer to his lips and took a long swig, his heat-filled stare never leaving hers.

Damn, she had no idea what to do in this situation. Make a joke to diffuse the tension? Acknowledge it? Flirt?

She hated feeling out of control, had instigated steps her entire life to avoid it. Yet in a loaded thirty seconds, Jett had made her damp with just one look and made her flounder.

“Is the blatant charm an Aussie thing or is it just you?”

Thankfully, he blinked, and broke the scorching stare that made her want to grab a napkin off the bar and fan herself. “It’s me.” He leaned in close. “Time you fessed up.”

Yikes. Was her reaction to him that easy to read?

“To what?”

His lips almost brushed her ear. “You’re battling an incredible urge to drag me into the nearest janitor’s closet and ravish me.”

She laughed at his outrageousness. “Sorry. I don’t do sex in cleaning closets. Too many hazardous chemicals.”

“Yeah, those pheromones can be killer.”

She loved his quick wit and for the second time in as many minutes, wished she’d met him at a different place, different time.

“Pity.” He reverted to a smoldering stare that had her wishing she’d ordered a vodka shot chaser. “Sex in confined spaces can be fun.”

“I’ll take your word for it.” Heat crept into her cheeks and she signaled the waiter for a glass of water. To douse herself with.

“Not the answer I was hoping for,” he said, shifting his barstool closer so their thighs brushed. “Would’ve been better if you’d said, ‘Sounds good, Jett, let’s go try.’”

She cleared her throat and gratefully accepted the water from the waiter, drinking it all and wishing she could run the cool beaded exterior across her forehead. “How did we get onto this crazy topic?”

“Started with you wanting to ravish me.” He clinked his beer bottle to her empty glass. “Seriously. There’s no need to hold back. I can take whatever you want to dish out.”
