Carrie Ann Ryan ~ ARC Review ~ An Alpha's Path + Giveaway

I was so excited when my twitter friend Carrie Ann Ryan told me that she had finished her debut book - An Alpha's Path and that she was ready  for me to read it :D
As with any book I get from someone I have become friends with I was a bit nervous BUT let me tell you I was so pleasantly surprised. I was quickly sucked into this short story and didn't come up for air until I was done and breathing heavy.

An Alpha's Path - Redwood Pack Book 1
Coming Dec 5th, 2011
Blurb ~

Melanie is a twenty-five year old chemist who has spent all of her adult life slaving at school. With her PhD in hand, she's to start her dream job, but before she does, her friend persuades her to relax and try to live again. A blind date set up through her friends seems like the perfect   solution. Melanie can take one night away from the lab and let her inner vixen out on a fixed blind date - a chance to get crazy with a perfect stranger. The gorgeous hunk she's to meet exceeds her wildest dreams – be he is more than what he appears and Melanie's analytical mind goes into overdrive.

Kade, a slightly older werewolf (at over one hundred years), needs a night way from the Pack. Too many responsibilities and one near miss with a potential mate made Kade hide in his work, the only peace he can find. His brother convinces him to meet the sexy woman for a one night of fun. What could it hurt? But when he finds this woman could be his mate, can he convince her to leave her orderly, sane world and be with him and his wolf-half, for life?

Review ~

Kade Jamieson is fresh off a break up and heir to the Redwood Pack which doesn't leave much time for socializing or dating. When his brother Jasper tells him he has set him up on a blind date Kade figures what the hell.

Melaine Cross has recently achieved her PhD in Nuclear Chemistry and has also had no time or made any effort to date. So when her friend Larissa sets her up on a blind date with a construction worker, Kade, she decides why not . At worst she has dinner, at best she gets a night to do a little misbehaving.

Both Kade and Melanie are trying douting the blind date until they set eyes on eachother. Kade instantly knows he wants Mel and Mel is thanking her friend for pressuring her into the date because Kade is one of the yummiest things she has ever seen. But just as all first dates go, especially blind dates - things are with held - sometimes VERY important things like... being a WEREWOLF!

Things escalate very quickly when a mate's scent is detected - sweaty bodies, strong emotions, secrets revealed, and decisions must be made. This 59 page short story had me panting for more. Carrie Ann Ryan has definitely created a fan outta me with her fast pace, humor, and scorching hot scenes.

I laughed so hard at this quote  I nearly spit my soda out- HUGE Grease fan
QUOTE-

Jasper clasped his hands together and spoke in a high pitched voice, “Oh but Kade, you must tell me more, tell me more. Like did he have a car?”

Despite his ill mood, Kade burst out laughing. “Dude, you are so not Sandy or a Pink Lady. And you need to watch more TV so you can get more recent pop culture references. Grease? Really?”

A Taste for a Mate - Redwood Pack Book 2
 Drafting
Blurb ~

Jasper Jamenson’s only responsibility to being the Beta of the Red Wood Pack, second son of the Alpha, is to protect the Pack from themselves and the human world. After a century of selfless service, his brother’s new found mating forced him into taking a good look into his life. He isn’t sure he wants a mate, but fate may have other ideas.

Willow Delton is a skinny, bakery owner – the type most woman love to hate. Being without family, she finds herself alone to the Greek God with green eyes who saunters into her bakery every morning. Her desire to follow him, to be with him, overrides every rational sense she possessed.

Jasper and Willow are drawn together, despite every nuisance that works against them. But evil beyond even Jasper’s supernatural compensation will make war against him by going after the only thing in his eternal life he desires – Willow. Is Willow’s heart enough to override Jasper’s soul to save her life? A fight he cannot win, but to save her life – he must.

  5. Thank you Joanne, Norah, Lisa and Renee! I am so excited about sharing my work. Hearing people actually want to read it as well just baffles me. I am so humbled and thankful!

And Renee, my heroines may not always be strong willed - sometimes they need to learn and go through daunting experiences to see that they truly are. That is what I am finding so much fun in with Willow in A Taste for a Mate.

And Dawn! Thank you so much for your review. You were my first one - EVER - and you made me cry. To have someone read my book and actually like it is amazing. So thank you.
