PG Forte - Interview with Damian Montoya + giveaway

Today I am so excited to welcome Damian Ysidro Esposito-Montoya, Vizconde de Castile and PG Forte. Damian is the ever so handsome and wickedly charming gentleman from PG Forte's Children of the Night series. Since the moment I met Damian I have had the biggest crush on him (& his partner Conrad Quintano too). I could just Squeeeee!!!! I can't believe he is here! (Ok, Dawn get yourself together - deep breath)

Hi Damian - I hope you are well this evening. Thank you for taking the time to come and talk to me. As you know I am hosting The Perfect Man Event and (sigh)... I couldn't help but think of you. I have arranged a few questions for you if you wouldn't mind..... (Breath)
materials

Dawn: So, Damian, your author, PG Forte, has decided to nominate you for our Perfect Man Event. How do you feel about that?
Damian: I’m flattered, of course, and very happy to be appearing here on your blog today...but, just between you and me, I can’t really say I’m surprised. After all, who else would she choose?
PG: Oh, I don’t know, D. I can think of a few other people. Armand. Conrad. Some of the guys from one of my other series perhaps...
Damian: Armand? Really? He would fit your criteria for “Perfect Man”? Buenisimo. I had not realized you were so easily impressed.
PG: Or some of the other guys, I said. But, sure. Why not Armand? There are a lot of people who really like him, you know.
Damian: Are there? I’m astonished to hear of it. But...what is it they say? There’s no accounting for taste?
PG: If you must know, I’ve actually received quite a few emails asking when I’m going to get him together with Julie.
Damian: Julie and Armand? No. Over my undead body.
PG: That could be arranged. Besides, Armand has a lot of good qualities. He’s handsome, funny, sympathetic. He’s a wonderful dancer. Plus there’s that yummy French accent. Mmm. He’s actually quite a bit like Bradley Cooper. In fact, now that I think of it...
Damian: He’s not French. He’s Canadian.
PG: He’s French Canadian. Besides, I notice you didn’t object when I mentioned Conrad as a potential candidate for “Perfect Man”. Why is that?
Damian: Are you quite mad? Tell me, mi autora muy estimado, did you write me a death wish of which I’m not yet aware? Conrad’s my sire, if you’ll recall He’s muy, muy alpha. He’s also the most powerful vampire I’ve ever known. No, if he wishes to be considered for “Perfect Man” I, of course, would not dream of objecting.
PG: Also, you’re in love with him.
Damian: Sí, there is that, as well.

Dawn: Okay, can we get back on track now? Damian, why do you think she decided you were a good candidate for our ”Perfect Man” Crown?
Damian: Ah, sí, sí. A very good question. I’m beginning to wonder about that myself. I suppose it’s because she finds me handsome—most people do—and charming as well.
PG: Well, I do. But the same could be said for Armand.
Damian: I’m also intelligent. Loyal. Amusing.
PG: Armand. Armand. Armand, again.
Damian: I’m taller than he is, all right? Also, he envies me my hair. He said so himself. I remember.
PG: Did he? You know, I think you’re right about that. Also, you’re probably a better cook than he is.
Damian: Sí. Very true. Not that anyone would know it. Ever since you wrote that annoying scene where Conrad forbids me to cook for the twins, it’s been almost impossible for me to indulge myself in the kitchen. One batch of cookies in—how long has it been now? Twenty years?
PG: Oh, don’t sulk. You know I love you. Besides, it had to be done.
Damian: Hmph. So you’ve said. Very, well then, mi querida señora, perhaps you would care to enlighten us? Why did you choose me?
PG: Well, since you asked, it’s because I think you’re adorable. And because I have a weakness for tortured heroes. But, aside from that, you are handsome and charming, you can be very amusing when you wish to be and, at times, you’re actually kind of brilliant. You’re also brave, and compassionate, nurturing, unselfish...that is when you’re not being cold-blooded, ruthless, manipulative and deadly, of course.
Damian: Of course. That goes without saying. I am a vampire, after all.
PG: Vampire or not, you’re a good friend to those you care about. And when it comes to those you love, you’re willing to risk absolutely everything.
Damian: Oh. Well. I’m honored. That was very nice. Muchisimas gracias, señora, for all your kind words.
PG: De nada.

Dawn: Now that we have that out of the way. Damian, won’t you tell us a little a little bit about your tale?
http://www.philaprintshop.com/images/blaeuspain.jpgDamian: Certainly. I was born a little over five hundred years ago in Castille, which is of course a region in Spain, on the estate of my father. However, I spent most of my youth at the Royal Court in Sevilla, after I caught the eye of my patron, His Excellency the Grand Duke of –
Conrad: Oh, no. Not him again! I’m sure nobody wants to hear about your precious El Duque. Can’t we move on already to a somewhat more interesting topic?
Damian: Ah, querido mio. You’re here too? How lovely. But, dear me, it appears there’s been some miscommunication. I was given to understand this interview was about me.
PG: You’re sulking again, Damian. You should realize by now that Conrad always thinks everything is about him.
Conrad: Only because it generally is. And, by the way, I really don’t like it when you talk about me as if I weren’t sitting right here.
Damian: Well, that’s easily solved, is it not?
Conrad: My dear, are you suggesting I should leave?
Damian: Of course not, querido. Not unless you wish to leave. You know I would never dream of suggesting you do anything you didn’t want to do.
PG: Right. Because you know he never does anything he doesn’t want to anyway.
Conrad: That is not true! You’ve both made me do plenty of things I haven’t wanted to do. Really, if anyone should be sulking it’s me.
Damian: If you’re both finished now, might I continue? Sí? Bueno. It was in Sevilla that I met my darling Conrad, el amor de mi vida. He swept me off my feet and took me away to a life of...well, let’s just say, it’s been a very interesting life and leave it at that. We’ve been together ever since and madly in love. It’s been perfect, unadulterated bliss.
Conrad: Ahem. As I recall, there may have been one or two lapses in that bliss.
Damian: Really? That’s not at all how I remember it.

Dawn: Hello Conrad, it’s nice to have you join us, can you tell us what attracted you to Damian?
Conrad: Thank you. I’m glad that someone here is addressing me directly. To answer your question, I think his eyes were the first thing I noticed. I love his dark eyes. They’re so...expressive. I especially like the way they spark whenever he’s in a temper.
aestheteman:

i love you so very much dude, whatever your name isPG: Which, thanks to you, is fairly often.
Conrad: Nonsense. It’s certainly not my fault that he gets annoyed! Anyway, to continue: I also fell in love with his spirit. He’s impulsive to a fault, very determined and always wants to get his way. I’ll probably regret admitting this, but I usually find our arguments quite exhilarating.
PG: Exhilarating. Right. You just like the make-up sex.
Damian: No argument there. I’m quite fond of it as well.

Dawn: So now we know a little about your background, Damian, tell us how you’d make us feel like you were our perfect man?
Damian: Just by being myself. I’m sorry if that sounds arrogant, but it’s true.
PG: I concur. To know him is to love him.
Conrad: Splendid. Just what he needs to hear. There’ll be no living with him now.

Dawn: Tell us one thing about yourself that sets you apart from the crowd?
Damian: Besides everything you mean? No, no, I’ll be serious. I suppose...well, you know, I’m not certain what to say. My superior fashion sense, perhaps?
PG: Oh, there you go. Way to rock the stereotype, D.

Dawn: What do you two do in your spare time that might intrigue our readers? Any hobbies? Or adventures you’d like to share?

Conrad: That’s a dangerous question. Damian, watch what you say. I know the kinds of subjects these readers find intriguing and I’m not sure I want you discussing them here.
Damian: We fence. Surely you can have no objection to my mentioning that, querido? For myself, I also like to throw parties and entertain.
PG: And cook.
Conrad: No. No cooking! Do I have to insist upon that again?
Damian: We’ve had many adventures over the years. Of course, I can’t discuss what we’ve been doing most recently since it’s a big, dark secret. So, instead...maybe I should tell you about the time Conrad arrived just in the nick of time and saved my life when I was about to be killed?
PG: No! Not yet. That’s still a few books away.
Damian: Oh, very well. It was quite a thrilling adventure though. My hero, riding to my rescue. Sigh. Maybe I can talk about the time I saved his life then?
Conrad: No! That’s a horrible story. It doesn’t make me look heroic in the least. Besides, if they’re really interested, they can read about that in In the Dark. How about we just move on to the next question instead?
Damian: Sí. Why don’t “we” do that. Sigh.

Dawn:Conrad can you tell us something about Damian that others might not know? Damian, same question to you.
Conrad: He went through a prolonged “Glitter Rock” phase during the 1970s and 80s. My eyes have yet to recover from the glare. I’m not sure his “fashion sense” has fully recovered from it either, actually.
Damian: You know what they say. Once you go Glam, you can never go back. But...I’m sorry, I’m not entirely certain what I’m being asked. Am I supposed to say something about Conrad, or myself?
Conrad: Tell them about you. What they don’t know about me, they don’t need to know.
Damian: Very well. I’d like to get another tattoo someday.
Conrad: You would? You mean, even after...?
Damian: Sí.
PG: Right. That’s enough about that. I think we’ll leave that for a future book too. ‘Kay boys?

Dawn:Okay then, boys...er, I mean gentlemen, do either of you have anything you’d like to add for our readers or your writer?
Damian: Not really. Just thank you so much for having me here.
Conrad: Us. You mean thanks for having us here.
Damian: Whatever.

Dawn:Thank you for visiting with us and just one last question for you both .... What is your favorite/ or most special memory in your life?
Damian: The night Conrad turned me. It was muy, muy romántico. The crackling of the fire, the scent of the blossoms wafting in from the garden, mi amado beside me, holding me in his arms...
Conrad: You mean the night you tricked me into losing my temper and I nearly killed you? Leading to three of the worst nights of my life—during which I endured agony wondering if you’d survive?
Damian: Well, when you put it that way it doesn’t sound nearly as special. So what, pray tell, would you list as your “special memory”?
Conrad: That’s easy. The last time we fenced.
Damian. Oh. Oh, well, yes. That was very nice too.

Thank you and if you want to chat more you can find us on twitter @Cofn_Talkin

Thank you so much coming!!!! I am already following you on twitter ;) Now I'm going to tell my readers about your book ....Old Sins, Long Shadows

Children of Night, Book 2
Old Sins, Long ShadowsLiving forever is hard, but loving forever? That’s damn near impossible.

1856, New York City. Moments after Conrad Quintano drives his life-mate away, heartache and guilt descend around his heart like a pall. Convinced that Damian’s hatred is as permanent as the scars Conrad has inflicted on him, Conrad steels himself for an eternity of emotional torture.

Present day, San Francisco. For the sake of vampire twins Marc and Julie Fischer, Conrad and Damian present a united parental front. In reality, their truce is a sham. Conrad, weakened by his recent ordeal, struggles against the urge to bring his mate back to his bed. And Damian misinterprets Conrad’s explosive temper as proof their relationship is irreparably broken.

When an old enemy’s quest to create a dangerous new breed of vampire threatens the twins’ lives—and the precarious state of vampire peace—it’s imperative the estranged lovers put the past behind them. Or the shadows of the past will tear apart everything they hold dear.

  7. Okay, I haven't read any of these books, or heard about Damien or Conrad until today, but that was a really good interview. And they both seem so interesting (and hot/awesome). I'd love to read their book (and probably some of the author's others, I need to check her backlist).
